


## Project Background and Target Audience
I live in an area and community with a ton of local and small (mom and pop) shops. I noticed over the years where I've worked with the local shops that inventory management and keeping track of profits is either time consuming, a shot in the dark, or both. This gave me the idea to make an app or website that helps them keep track of everything in real time. The question became whether to focus on desktop-first or mobile-first. The answer was mobile-first because most of them are not tech savvy and prefer using mobile over desktop when selling online on platforms like Shopee unless absolutely necessary (i.e. printing waybills).

## Application Architecture and Implementation

The initial application was an [Ionic](https://ionicframework.com/) progressive web-app built with React. I chose this initially due to my superior experience with React and the web-development ecosystem compared to mobile-development (with React Native). 

I developed the prototype and received valuable info and feedback for the first version of the app. I have some users that are from rural areas where the internet is sometimes unreliable, so perhaps an offline-syncing to the backend would work wonders for that problem. Additionally, some users report of the app being slow.

The first version of the app is in development using React Native with 2 weeks worth of development; however, I am also learning Flutter on the side (and native Android development with Kotlin) to determine whether Flutter would better suit me as a developer and the users' needs and wants.

I used NodeJS and Typescript for the backend.
